Reach Project
The REACH Nigeria Project to be implemented by the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN), is a life-saving immunisation initiative dedicated to reaching zero-dose and under-immunized children in Nigeria’s most vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities within humanitarian settings. It is a continuation of the ZIP project funded by Gavi. ZIP is a Gavi’s 5.0 Humanitarian Partnerships aimed at extending vaccination to humanitarian settings where conventional vaccination mechanisms cannot operate safely or coordinate effectively. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is the prime and the project will be implemented through December 31st 2025.
The operations will be in the nine (9) LGAs in four states where the RAISE 4 Sahel project implemented by CHAN has negotiated access. This is to scale the gains and achieve saturation, leaving no child behind.
The project targets infants and children operating in Kaduna (Ikara & Jere), Plateau (Shendam & Qua’anPan), Sokoto (Goronyo, Rabah & Wurno), and Borno (Konduga and Jere) states, targeting infants (0-11 months) and children (12-23 months) with essential vaccines, ensuring no child is left behind due to conflict, displacement, or geographical barriers.
Using humanitarian principles, the team negotiates access and serves through planned outreaches tagged SIRI within the various contexts. Together, we can eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases and give every child a healthy start in life. Learn more about our impact and how you can support the REACH Nigeria Project.
