The Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) is the umbrella organization for faith-based health institutions in Nigeria, dedicated to strengthening the national health system through equitable, accessible, and compassionate healthcare services. CHAN supports member institutions, engages in health advocacy, and implements various donor-funded projects nationwide.
POSITION: EXTERNAL AUDITOR (CHAN – JOS, PLATEAU STATE)
Reports to
National Executive Council/Board of Trustees.
Audit Duration
3 years (subject to performance evaluation).
Location
Jos, Plateau State.
Role Summary
CHAN is seeking potential Bidders for auditing its financial records/accounts and hereby solicit profiles of Auditing Firms (Chartered Accountants) with the capacity to render this service using the national/international best accounting principles. The winning bidder(s) will enter into a contract with CHAN. Kindly provide a detailed Profile for our consideration: Please ensure your profile reaches CHAN on or before the 4th of December 2025.
Objectives of the audit
The objective of the audit is to enable the auditor to express an independent professional opinion on:
- Whether CHAN’s financial statements presents a true and fair view in all material respects for the reporting period in accordance with donor requirements.
- Whether funds, including donor-funded project resources, have been utilized in line with approved budgets, workplans and contractual obligations.
- Whether reported financial information is consistent with underlying accounting records; and
- Check whether CHAN complies with the applicable tax legislation in regard to taxes and statutory deductions and remittances.
- Based on materiality and risk, the auditor shall examine the adequacy of supporting documentation for reported expenditures.
- Check whether CHAN has adhered to its procurement guidelines and annexed guidelines to the agreement with donors.
- Assess adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
Scope of Work
The selected firm will be required to:
- Obtain reasonable assurance on whether the financial statements are free from material misstatement, whether arising from fraud, error, or other irregularities, in accordance with applicable auditing standards.
- Conduct an annual audit in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Provide audited financial statements, a management letter and any accompanying documentation.
- Provide professional recommendations on internal controls and financial management practices.
- File annual returns with FIRS in accordance with Section 55 of CITA.
- Facilitate the annual processing of CHAN’s Tax Clearance Certificate.
- Uphold ethical requirements of independence, integrity and objectivity.

- Proposals should be comprehensive and highlight how the bidding company intends to meet up with our requirements as stated above, in addition to clearly stating service costs and/or rates of commission, proposals should include the following: Company Profile, including key personnel and contact details. Evidence of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Valid Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three years and Tax Identification Number (TIN), Evidence of corporate office, phone number and email address
- Verifiable list of previous/similar services carried out in the recent past
- Explain clearly other services your company specializes in.
A complete proposal must include:
- Technical Proposal

- Demonstrated understanding of the assignment.
- Proposed methodology and workplan.
- Experience with donor-funded audits (where available)
- Qualifications of key personnel.
- Financial Proposal (Detailed professional fees and cost structure for the audit assignment in Plateau State)
- Availability to conduct the exercise within an agreed period, if selected.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF OFFER
Delivery Terms -To be Agreed upon during contracting.
Delivery Place -CHAN Headquarters, Little Rayfield, Jos-South, Plateau state.
Payment Terms – To be agreed during negotiation.
Additional Terms & Conditions:
Applicable Withholding Tax (5% WHT) will be deducted in accordance with Nigerian tax laws.

- Responsiveness to the terms of reference.
- Demonstrated experience and technical capacity.
- Qualifications of key staff.
- Delivery timelines.
- Financial competitiveness.
